I started Master Stringer as an independent home-based tennis racquet stringing service as it is my belief that every tennis player, no matter what level you play at, deserves the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of a professional string job at an affordable price.

As I operate independently, I can offer you a comprehensive and professional stringing service (including a wide range of strings) at a significantly better price than racquet stores, sports shops and tennis clubs in the area (Tri-Cities and Vancouver, BC).

I first picked up a tennis racquet at the age of 11 in 1980 (the Borg/Connors/McEnroe-era) and went on to play competitive tennis as a junior up till my late teens, and continued on to league tennis in my early twenties.

I was taught to string tennis racquets in 1985 by the owner of a local racquet shop in order to provide part-time help for him, and since then, I have always strung my own racquets.

To date, I have strung many thousands of racquets for customers, friends, family and myself, as well as tried many different makes and models of string, tensions and hybrid combinations.

As an avid tennis player today currently playing at an NTRP 4.5-ish level, and parent to 3 kids actively competing in local junior tourneys, I am acutely aware of the stringing needs of recreational players, juniors starting in competitive tennis, right up to the serious players who require the very best performance out of their equipment. I also make it a point to playtest any strings that I sell so that I can offer informed advice to my customers when choosing a string.

My current weapon of choice is the Yonex RDiS 100MP paired with Silent Partner Filament Frenzy multifilament strung at 56lbs mains / 54lbs crosses. I love the combination of power and feel that I can get with this set up, and find Silent Partner strings to be highly underrated considering the excellent price/performance ratio they provide compared to many of the more well known string brands. I string on a state-of-the-art Silent Partner Opus electronic stringing machine.
